Behind the Meme: Ben Baker, Oregon Republican Party Official

America seems to be deeply confused about this man’s political beliefs.

I’ve seen this photo floating around the internet a lot lately, and 99% of the time, people completely misunderstand it.

The meme I see around it is that he’s some kind of radical anti-centrist, because he’s sporting both mid to far-right (MAGA hat) and leftist (the shirt) clothes.

Let me be clear, BEN BAKER IS NO SOCIALIST.

People think that only because you don’t see the rest of the shirt. You can tell from the “limp wrist” added to the shirt to imply Che’s homosexuality. The shirt, sold by Koch and Saudi funded internet propagandist Steven Crowder, says “Socialism is for F*gs” with the asterisk being next to a very small fig.

The homophobic propaganda starts so young.

This was designed as such to give the plausible deniability that the shirt is supposed to read “socialism is for figs” but combined with the poorly ‘shopped in limp wrist and the fact that no where in the world does the word “figs” require censorship.

I actually enjoy that people are assuming he supports socialism if only for the fact that this must irritate the living fuck out of him. I wonder if he considered that the register would give customers this impression when he decided to wear this as his Halloween costume? And if you doubt that’s in fact the shirt he’s wearing, here’s a different picture of him in it.

Calling for physical violence against groups he doesn’t like, as you’ll come to see, is kinda this dude’s jam.

To summarize his politics, he’s absolutely and completely far-right, but that’s not just my assumption here because this rabbit hole actually gets much much deeper.

Meet Ben Baker:

Shortly after this photo was taken and started making the rounds on the internet, his McD’s… promoted him to manager. Yeah, someone looked at this edgelord and said, Prime management material.

So, a local leftist group started pushing the issue, which resulted in complaints to the McD’s and a local socialist group doing a pretty deep look into his social media connection.

I would link to the post where I got all this info, but it contains information that is illegal to post because, while you have little or no protection from doxxing as an American citizen, he does as a political official.

So instead, I’m going to summarize the link with information that is more legally safe to share. He’s a proud boy who runs a facebook group which encourages his local community to go out at night and patrol for socialists out alone (so they can jump them, presumably). Also, this isn’t limited to just socialist either, as you can see here.

He’s also a member of the “Oregon Patriots Militia” which thankfully seems to be more of a LARPing (live action role play) group than an actual militia from the looks of it.

He’s also an official within the Republican party at the county level.

Oh, but I’m not done by a long shot, he’s also an admitted pedophile. Ben was dumb enough to out himself by name on a change(dot)org post asking Oregon to effectively allow him to legally have sex with a 13 year old girl he was grooming. He also maintained a facebook group to this effect, as you can see from the archived link below.

I know, this is a lot already, but it’s still only the tip of the documented iceberg of his inclination towards very young teen girls. In the post below you can see his account of what happened after the police responded to complaints of him stalking an underage girl.

If nothing else, this post is a good example of why you shouldn’t post super personal business to a public facebook account.

There’s also the time he got kicked out of rehab for violating a no contact order against another underage girl he’d stalked after being rejected by her, again, posted to his public facebook account.

Then there are the threats of violence, which are numerous, though to give one example he posted a video in which he declares “How we deal with Socialists” before unloading a magazine into a yard sign for former Corvallis City Council candidate, Paige Kriesman, a trans Jewish woman.

This isn’t even the only transperson he’s sent death threats to, as you may have noticed in a previous photo in this article.

He’s also unsurprisingly a bigot, posting his hatred towards black people, women, jews, muslims, and gays, as well as making posts idolizing Hitler and Nazis and just being an overt white supremacist in general.

So yeah, this is the type of person whom the Oregon Republican party chooses to represent them. Keeping people like him out of office should be a priority, and since he has expressed interest in running for higher office, he’s definitely someone to keep an eye out for.
